Clearwater Campground

Welcome!

Are you looking for a permanent campsite? A place to get away from it all or maybe a weekend get away. We're looking for friendly people who enjoys the great outdoors as much as we do. 

We have a couple of permanent sites to choose from that are ready to accommodate you. All sites are located alongside of Armstrong Creek, so you can enjoy the view while listening to the creek all year long right from your very own camper.
Clearwater Campground is privately owned and operated. 
 
We're located off of a state maintain gravel road, and our driveway is gravel too so please drive slowly down the hill.
 
Directions:
We're located at 1123 Armstrong Creek Road in Marion, NC just off of 226A headed toward Little Switzerland. Turn left onto Armstrong Creek Road you'll see a Wildlife Fish Hatchery sign. Turn left at the second driveway you'll see two black mailboxes and a white corner fence. Please continue to follow the driveway behind the old house (1123 Armstrong Creek Rd. Marion, NC 28752)

Wildlife:
Our campground has a gated entrance with over 8 acres of privacy. You can see rhododendrons, mountain laurels, and ferns. All kinds of wildlife 
roams through these mountains such as deer, turkeys, and bears. 

Campsite Information:
Each site has 30 and 50 amp service. All campsites
are available with full hook up water, sewer, and power.  

The cost to lease a site is $2000.00 a year. Utilities aren't included in the lease agreement such as power, phone, and etc. Our sites are approximately 27 to 30 feet wide. Most sites can accommodate campers 27 to 40 feet long. All sites are adjacent to each other. Our sites are angled so that everyone
has a wonderful view of the creek. 
 
There's plenty of shade to get away from the sun. A small campfire ring is available on each site for those of you who enjoys cooking on an open fire, or you may want to roast some marshmallows or you may just sit back an relax with friends.

Daily Rental:












Site 2 
The cost is $30.00 per day for 30 amp service and $35.00 per day for 50 amp. RV hook-up 
includes water, sewer, and power. Please pick-up all trash and drop off at local dump station. 
Sorry, no tents
allowed! No local broadcast television signal or Wi-Fi in our area! We're surrounded by Pisgah National Forest and 
Armstrong Creek.
 

Reservations:
Please call in advance to schedule reservations. Please let us know a check-in date and departure, so we can check for availability. Reservations must be paid in full upon arrival. Sorry, we don't offer refunds for early, late departures, or adverse 
weather conditions. 
Check-in 2:00 p.m.
Check-out 12:00 noon


Pet Friendly:
We love our pets too; however, we recommend that all dogs must have valid rabies tag on dog's collar. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their own dog as well as being responsible for their dogs behavior. Dogs aren't allowed to be chained up outside. Sorry, we don't allow Rottweilers, Pit Bulls, and Chows. Please let us know in advance if you will be bringing a pet with you.

Weather Conditions:
We've had a lot more snow fall in 2010 than in the past. Usually about late March to mid April the temperature start to warm up. By the end of October and the first of November the tempertures will start to drop. Usually December, January, and Feburary are going to be the coldest months of the year.

Trout Fishing:

Clearwater Campground has over 1200 foot of 
stream so there's plenty of room to fish. If you enjoy trout fishing then you'll enjoy staying here. Others like to go tubing and that's fine too.

Clearwater is surrounded by Pisgah National Forest.  Adjacent to Clearwater you'll find several more places to fish along the banks of Pisgah.

At the end of Armstrong Creek Road you'll find Armstrong Creek Fish Hatchery.    

 

At Clearwater, we want everyone to feel at home.  Friendly hospitality is what you'll find here. As you look along the hillside near site one and two you can see a waterfall. We have a couple of places
to sit back and relax alongside Armstrong Creek. 

Clearwater is the place to be if you enjoy viewing
the mountains. Usually there's always a cool mountain breeze that flows through the valley. 

Boating Access:
Lake James is the place to visit if you enjoy fishing, boating, and water sports. Lake James is covering  6,510 acres, with over 150 miles of shoreline. It also has breath taking views of the mountains. A boat access ramp is located approximately 35 minutes away from Clearwater Campground. Black Bear Access ramp is adjacent to Bear Creek Marina. If

Area Attractions:

Several area attractions are located nearby such as Old Fort Museum, Gem Mountain Gemstone Mine, The Orchard at Altapass, Penland School of Crafts, Linville Falls, Linville Caverns, Linville Gorge, Lake James, Grandfather Mountain,
Roam Mountain, Mount Mitchell, Biltmore Estate, and many more wonderful
places to visit. 

 

Towns Nearby:
We're located near the following towns Little
Switzerland, Spruce Pine, Old Fort, Burnsville, Bakersville, Asheville, Blowing Rock, and Boone. 

Stores Nearby:
Several grocery stores located nearby Wal-Mart,
Food Lion, and Ingles. Wal-Mart in Spruce Pine has it all. TJ's Discount is the place to go for groceries too. Store hours are 9:30 a.m until 6:00 p.m. Tues.- Sat. located at 8153 Hwy 221 North in Marion, NC. 

Shopping:
Innsbruck Mall is located in Asheville, NC and it's only 50 minutes away from the campground.   

Restaurants:
Plenty of fast food restaurants to eat at such as McDonald's, KFC, Subway, Taco Bell, Hardees, and the Waffle House. Other great places to eat at in Marion are Fatz Cafe, Hook n Anchor, Countryside Bar-B-Que, Pizza Hut, and many more.
