Clearwater Campground is family owned and operated. We are just minutes away from hiking, mountain biking, shopping, and dining. Our camp- ground is very private and peaceful. Are you looking for a permanent campsite to get away for the weekend? If so, we would like to invite you to come visit our campground.
Our mission is to provide your family with a clean, pleasant, and fun camping experience. Clearwater Campground offers trout fishing at no additional charge. There's also several nice places to sit back and relax along the creek. A campfire ring is available on each site for those of you who enjoys cooking on an open fire and roast some marshmallows or just sit back an relax with some friends.
All permanent campsites are located alongside of Armstrong Creek, so you can enjoy the view of the creek right from your very own camper. The sound of the creek is very relaxing. Everyone at Clearwater Campground are friendly, family orientated, and wonderful people to be around.
Coming Soon: Campsite 10 is our only pull-thru site. It has a beautiful view of the mountain hillside. It's located across the road from site 3. It's approximately 150' from Armstrong Creek. Site 10 has water, sewer, and electric hook-up (30/50 Amp).
It can also accommodate any camper up to 39'.

Area Attractions: Visitors are always welcome! Please sign in at the office located on site 3 before entering. Please call ahead of time to make arrangements to visit with us due to gated entrance. We have a small parking area near site 5 for guest to park while visiting.

Headed on 226, continue going straight on 226A, pass by Armstrong Creek RV Park (Stockton Rd.), turn left onto Armstrong Creek Road (Wildlife Fish Hatchery Sign), turn left at the second driveway in the curve, (white corner fence with two black mail-boxes) Please follow driveway behind the old home place and continue to drive slowly down the hill as you enter into the campground.
Wildlife:
Our campground has a gated entrance with over 8 acres of privacy. You can see rhododendrons, mountain laurels, and ferns. All kinds of wildlife
roams through these mountains such as deer, turkeys, and bears.
Permanent Campsite Information:
Each site has 30 and 50 amp service available with water, sewer, and power.
Our permanent campsites are going fast! We only have the following campsites:
Site 1 $2400. annually plus monthly metered power
This site has prime view of Armstrong Creek and waterfall. This site can accommodate any camper up to 39'. It is pictured below.
Site 8 $2000. annually plus monthly metered power
It also has a view of Armstrong Creek. This site can accommodate any camper up to 28'. This campsite is also pictured below.

Utilities aren't included such as power, phone, and etc. Our sites are approximately 27 to 30 feet wide. Most sites can accommodate campers 30 to 40 feet. Sites are angled so that everyone can view the creek.
We only allow a carport shed over the permanent campsite; however, the tin must be green colored. All porches can't be over 3' tall on concrete patio blocks with handrails. All porches can't be enclosed.

Parking is available beside of campsite 1 near the flower bed. It has a small concrete patio. The shed in this picture has been removed. This site is also available as a permanent campsite.

The cost is $30.00 per day for 30 amp service and 50 amp
service is $35.00 per day. RV hook-up includes water, sewer, and power. Please remove all trash from campsites and drop off at your local dump station.

Scheduling Reservations:
Please call in advance to schedule reservations. Please let us know a check-in date and departure, so we can check for availability. Reservations must be paid in full upon arrival. Sorry, we don't offer refunds for no show, early departures, or adverse weather conditions.

Pet Friendly:
We love our pets too; however, we recommend that all dogs have a valid rabies tag on dog's collar. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their own dog as well as being responsible for their dogs behavior. Dogs aren't allowed to be chained up outside. Sorry, we don't allow Rottweilers, Pit Bulls, and Chows due to insurance policy. Please let us know in advance if you will be bringing a pet.
Weather Conditions:
We've had more snow fall this year than in the past. Usually about late March to mid April the temperature start to warm up. By the end of October and first week of November the temperatures will start cooling off. Click on the link below

There's a nice semi-level path located alongside of the creek throughout the campground.
Clearwater is surrounded by Pisgah National Forest so you can also enjoy fishing along the banks of Pisgah too.
Armstrong Creek Fish Hatchery:
When leaving the campground turn left at the mailboxes continue to follow gravel road. Then cross over a small bridge then park on the left side of the road while visiting. There's also a hiking trail at the end of Armstrong Creek Road. Boating Access:
Lake James is the place to visit if you enjoy fishing, boating, and water sports. Lake James is covering 6,510 acres, with over 150 miles of shoreline. It also has breath taking views of the mountains. Boat access ramp is located approximately 35 minutes away from Clearwater Campground. Black Bear Access ramp is adjacent to Bear Creek Marina.

We're 15 minutes from Wal-Mart. Several other grocery stores located nearby are Food Lion and Ingles. Wal-Mart in Spruce Pine has it all. TJ's Discount store hours are 9:30 a.m until 6:00 p.m. Tues. - Sat. located at 8153 Hwy 221 North in Marion, NC.
Shopping:
Innsbruck Mall is located in Asheville, NC and it is only 50 minutes away from the campground.
Restaurants:
Plenty of fast food restaurants to eat at such as McDonald's, KFC, Subway, Taco Bell, Hardees, and the Waffle House. Other great places to eat at in Marion are Fatz Cafe, Hook n Anchor, Country -side Bar-B-Que, Pizza Hut, and many more.

Sorry, we don't have any swings for children.
Our rates don't go up during Holidays or week-ends. We don't charge additional fees for adults, children, extra vehicles, guest, fishing, tubing, or creek-sites.
